Fear me, for I am the darkness that creeps,
The shadow that follows and never sleeps.
I lurk in the corners of your mind,
And in the silence, my whispers you'll find.
I am the fear that grips your heart,
The terror that tears your soul apart.
I am the nightmare that never ends,
The horror that lurks around every bend.
You cannot escape my icy grip,
For I am the master of every trip.
I'll haunt you in your waking hours,
And in your dreams, I'll wield my powers.
So fear me, mortal, for I am the dread,
The terror that you cannot shed.
My darkness will consume your soul,
I am a journey that all must take, A path that none can avoid or fake. My embrace is cold and final, And yet, some find my arrival vital. What am I?
