Fewer days and fewer nights, but many pass. I do not wish harm, but my men may. The sun sets over me more slowly than it rises. I taste the dark, I taste the dew on the rays. My family lives away from me, but I do not sorrow. I rejoice for what I am, I pride myself for what I am. For that is my dream.
Toto, I don't think we're in Kansas anymore!
I didn't like pork. I didn't like eggs. But now I like both. Thanks to a fellow whom I don't know. Even though he is American. Green or not, I didn't care. But now I do, for I'd like a pair. I'd eat them in a box with a fox. Oh, how stubborn I used to be. Who am I?
People can surf to find me, despite being warned they do not heed. They do not always check that each one is unique; variations are fine when put into different words, yet some people just follow the herd. Look at the thing you are looking at, and you will see me before and after; I will not be #EEEEEE, #FF7373, or #222, but near #444444.
People have me, ants have me, Martha used to have me, but now she is gone as well. Look up and you will see a part of me. I am in space but not in a star; yet asteroids have me. Some of my men have guns in both directions. I can be blue and green, but that is not all. Hard to break or easy to destroy.
People from the United States probably haven't heard of me. My doppelganger should not be confused with me, for I am no metal ring set with jewels. I am much more useful; metal is neither delicious nor disgusting like me. The one who has not seen tofu before may confuse me with it. The Dutch often call me the worst and the Germans say nearly the same.
We ran alongside the cobbled roads of old. We start with a c and end with an e in both our forms. You can't miss us, we're bigger than a pea. But when you run along our faces, it can sometimes be with glee. Yet in the end, I will be the one laughing, because while you are left in the dust you came from, I will still remain.
Why am I so highly valued among some, if I am as common as the pebbles beside the pathway? I retort to myself, it must be because I am better than most. But a bird chirps along and hears my small talk; he chortles gleefully. O little one, I see you everywhere, you are all alike, priding yourself in what people think of you. You are truly very little; your soul is so fragile that the wind will break it.
Blue, black, and yellow are three of the five. However, that is not all. I possess fifty-two types of a different night pass. Many are within me, yet only the best can survive. In fact, if you tried, you probably wouldn't even be given a chance. I wouldn't have survived myself; yet, now I live. Many haven't seen me, yet I will come to all. Bid if you will, but money is no object.
Some rejoice when I'm gone, yet some are deep in woe. To those of you who rejoice in treason, woe unto you! You will pay, and you will not be as jubilant next time. For I am your child.
I am the name of a band that has earned a Grammy. Some like me, others hate me. I also glow in carbohydrates and sugar. The ending of me can fly, wave and run. Name the first part of me.
Some say you're on something, not narcotic or dangerous, but it will make you buzz in delightful fun, fun, fun! I am the main star of this fun; I also like to sing, dance, pretend, and... who am I?
